8th Taunt | Video
[The video snaps on to reveal a parlor, a doorway behind the young blue-haired girl leading into the living room of the home that it had been built onto. A faint crackle of a fireplace resonates throughout the room, chairs positioned around a central table. The location of many a Fashion Club meeting, its use today was for something similar, but certainly not of the norm. Today, an important announcement was to be had, as well as an example to fashion that everyone should take note of.]
Hey everyone! I just wanted to show off something I made for a minute. Also, thanks so much to Hikaru for the sewing and fashion design lessons. If anyone wants something really gorgeous, you should totally go to Hikaru and Kaoru.
[She motions off-screen, although the person she’s trying to send some sort of signal to isn’t in view yet.]
Presenting...my first experiment in men’s fashion!
[She makes a little face when her signal isn’t responded to right away. Someone has missed his cue.]
C’mon Dad! You promised!
Alright, alright.
[From the side, he walks in, not quite looking dejected, but pretty close- hands in his pockets and looking away grouchily as he stands next to her. There’s an obvious bit of embarrassment in Vegeta’s face, but then again, it could be worse. And well, he did think he looked pretty good in the outfit she’s made for him.]
Thanks, Dad.
[Bulla is proud of her first successful attempt at making men’s clothing that doesn’t fit weirdly. She managed to go right from design, to making a simple pattern, and this is the end result. The outfit in question is a white turtleneck that’s fitted without being skin tight, complete with khaki pants, a belt, and a necklace.]
I didn’t make the necklace or the belt, but I did make the sweater and pants myself. So, Dad? How does it feel? It’s comfortable, right?
[He looks over to her, flushing lightly at the question. What, he’s got to give his opinion on this too? He didn’t sign up for this, at least he didn’t remember agreeing to such a thing. He was supposed to wear the darn thing, be done with it, and go about his business.]
It’s a shirt and pants, and they fit, I guess. I don’t see what’s so special about it.
[He folds his arms over his chest, the feel of the necklace irritating him further. He’s never worn one in his life and he can’t believe this was the start of it. Was this really fashionable for males to wear on Earth? How absurd.]
[Bulla whirls around with her hands on her hips.]
Dad! You don’t have to make it sound like it’s a chore. You could have just agreed that it’s comfortable.
Ah-! Fine, fine! [He picks at the sleeve uncomfortably.] None of it is uncomfortable to wear, and this turtleneck actually fits me in the shoulders and arms for a change, unlike that ridiculous clothing the Earthlings make back at home. There, is that what you were looking for?
[Bulla smiles and nods. She’s not going to expect him to talk about how great the clothes are. Just a little bit of public praise rather than grumping about it not being special is all she really wanted. The fact that he’s willing to support her interest is the more important thing overall.]
Thanks, Dad. That’s much better. I think we’re almost done here. But first I want to know what everyone thinks of my first try at men’s fashion! Your feedback is appreciated, everyone.
((OoC: Responses will come from both Vegeta and Bulla!))

video;
Good, because I'm not sure how I'd take having teenage girls staring at me. I'm a little too old for that, you know. [Man he's almost 60, that would weird him out.]
video;
[Really, a 60 year old guy with those muscles??]
Especially if you wear more clothes like these ones Bulla made for you. Trust me, you'll be called handsome everyday.
video;
Saiyans retain their youthfulness, as we are a warrior race. We fight well into our late years because of such a genetic trait. When Bulla is forty-five, she will still look as if she's no older than thirty. [He states is as a mere fact, to explain why he looks as young as he does.]
video;
Oh, really? I envy Bulla, then. I mean it's every girl's dream to look young when they grow old. [Except not really. It's just Ino's.] Even with this genetic trait, though, with proper clothes, you can look even more dashing. [Not giving up on this. Vegeta should wear more of Bulla's creations.]
video;
Yes, well, I'm sure my wife would agree. She seems to think it amusing that I let Bulla have her way with my wardrobe sometimes.
video;
I'd find it amusing if ever my boyfriend did the same with our future daughter, you know. I take it Bulla's a splitting image of her mother? [Because you don't look like her.]
video;
Bulla is, to the T. [He can't help but peer back at Ino, however.] You're already planning on children? Don't you think you've got a ways to go before thinking about that?
[Because, come on. Vegeta didn't even have his first kid until he was over thirty, and that was a oops child.]
video;
I can dream. [She gives a sheepish smile.] It's not like I'm going to jump the gun or anything. [Her smile turns smaller when she pauses as she reflects on her future.] But in my line of work, we don't exactly live to grow old.
video;
And what, pray tell, kind of work is that?
video;
I'm a ninja. Our lives are often on the line whenever we go on missions. Right now, we're fighting a war back home. [A brief pause.] Or at least, my friends are. I have yet to live it.
video;
From what I've been told it sounds like you should be grateful that you haven't experienced it yet. Combat on that scale is not for the weak of heart. There's nothing quite like the view of a battlefield strewn with the corpses of your enemies and comrades alike.
[He leaves out the part of how much he enjoys it and how thrilling it is.]
video;
[She's battle-ready and she damn well knows it. But what he said last catches her attention as it hits close to home. After her quick defense, Ino pauses, her eyes drifting low. When she speaks again, her voice is evidently softer compared to earlier.]
I want to experience it. I want to be there. [Another pause as sadness flickers in her eyes.] I want to be there when my father dies.
video;
So you've been told about your future. What good has come from knowing that, in a place where that information matters not?
[He's not trying to say that her father's death was irrelevant, but rather that why did anyone even tell her that. What good did it do to tell her that. Because Vegeta? He knows the future of every single person from his world- and hasn't told them anything except what was necessary to explain why he was so much older than the rest of them.]
video;
[How does she even begin to explain her ninja abilities?]
I saw it from someone else's perspective. That aside, though, I'm actually thankful that I know rather than people close to me keeping secrets from me.
[She wouldn't have appreciated Shikamaru and Chouji keeping this big news from her even if Vegeta's right, it won't matter much here in Luceti. There's a deep intake of breath before Ino lets it out when she continues.]
I'm also thankful that I know because it gives me all the more purpose to leave this place.
video;
That information would deter many. But yet, that spurs you on, eh? Well, I'll have to say I'm impressed. I don't meet many like that anymore.
video;
[She offers a small smile, a little flattered by the compliment Vegeta gave.]
It's a little sad you don't meet many people like me, though.
video;
Yes, it is. But then again. You also don't find too many true warriors in my world who aren't dead. [Okay so he still said it but in a different manner.]
video;
Why? What's your world like?
video;
Believe it or not, it's quite peaceful most of the time. But when some new foe rears its ugly head, more often than not they manage to almost destroy most of the inhabitants of the planet, if not the entire planet itself. Only a handful of us are actually strong enough to defend the planet, and there have been times where we've failed. I watched a madman destroy four planets in the span of an hour several years ago. Blew it up, his body reformed, and he went to the next and blew that one up too. It was one of the most horrific things I'd ever witnessed.
