Arriving back in Luceti, he returns home, genuinely happy for a change. Because all the hard work has finally paid off. A brown, long monkey tail pokes out of a hole he's created in the seat of his pants, a reward he's been seeking since he found out it was possible. He felt stronger with it. Now he could reach his maximum potential, a level of power he hasn't had access to since he arrived here. He keeps his tail unwrapped, not feeling any danger of having it grabbed or cut off.

But, the tail comes with its own problems. Problems he hasn't had to worry about in thirty years...

A:

[In the morning, he's headed right for the Clothing Shop, getting new pants for the moment with holes in it for his tail. On the way, he seems to be walking normally, tail bobbing behind him, but he's still a little wobbly. So much that out of the blue, he loses his balance...and crashes, right into you. Or maybe he didn't crash into you, maybe you were just walking by when he started to faceplant and his tail instinctively just wrapped around your arm and took you with him on accident. Or maybe he's hanging onto you by his tail because you are heavy enough not to get dragged down.]

B:

[All that shopping has made him sort of hungry, so he heads to Seventh Heaven to get a bite to eat, mowing down food like a vacuum. But it won't go without something happening on the way there. That book you were reading, the coffee you were drinking, or whatever it is you've got, there's a tail wrapping around it trying to thieve it right out of your hands. He doesn't know his tail is doing that, but it's doing its own bit of exploring and wrapping around things. The Malnosso couldn't let him go home without a little bit of mischief, after all.]

[After all is said and done, he's going right to the Battle Dome to test things out. Inside, those who frequent the Dome would find that the man with the golden hair isn't there today- instead there's a man covered in red fur, wild brown hair, and looking quite simian instead of human. He's going through his drills, for speed and strength, taking advantages of the shifts placed on the walls to test out the power of his ki blasts, rocking the room inside. He's coming out every hour to reset the simulation, keeping the form up. He's taller, by a grand total of two more inches, setting him at a towering 5'7''.

Though there is a point in time where he's reverted back to his base form, and he's...latched his tail in what looks like a clamp. And he's leaning forward, using his body weight to pull on it almost as if he's trying to stretch his tail. Either way, it looks painful, especially when he screams in pain, gritting his teeth. What is he doing? Who knows.]

[He only gives a muffled response, because his face is currently eating dirt. Not again. He keeps losing his balance, blasted tail.]

[He finally manages to turn himself over on his back, looking exasperated.]

I cannot believe this is happening.

_{[ He works himself to his feet and holds out his hand to him, at the same time noticing Vegeta's new appendage. It wasn't all that shocking - he'd seen stranger on other aliens, but it made his eyebrows go up a bit all the same. ]}

Do I want to know what's up with the tail?

[He doesn't take Kirk's hand, sitting up on his own and eventually picking himself up.] All saiyans have tails, mine was just forcibly removed thirty years ago. I've had the Malnosso reconstruct it for me.

Oh, well, congrats on getting it back. You sure they didn't add anything a little extra to it for the trouble, though?

_{[ It would be something they would do, right? Unless their attitudes had changed dramatically in the month or so he was totally out of it and a tribble. ]}

Oh come now. [He was so incredibly right that it hurt.] You honestly think they'd allow me to return without doing something to inconvenience me? Of course they added a little extra.

Heh, just checking that the Malnosso hadn't totally done a 180 while I was off in tribble-land. It's almost a comfort knowing they haven't.

So... why do Saiyans have tails?

_{[ He's a less curious sort than Spock, but he was curious in his own right, and he never remember Vegeta saying anything about Saiyans having tails... ]}

We are born with them. [He doesn't get why that's even a question. Why wouldn't Saiyans have tails.]

Okay, good to know. But - what purpose do they serve?

Like, humans are born with an appendix, but really we don't exactly have a use for them. They're just a defunct organ that may kill you on occasion if it bursts. So we have them, but no one knows why anymore.

_{[ Perfect example, see? You can't just say "we have tails" and not go into detail. It might be important! ]}

It's so we can transform. [The look on his face is dangerous, borderline gleefully murderous.]

_{[ He's not sure how to feel about that look. On Vegeta, it could mean a lot of things, and he has think one of those meanings has to do with blowing up a planet of some sort. His eyes narrow the tiniest bit, but otherwise he tries not to show if he's uncomfortable or not. ]}

Transform into what, exactly?

It all depends. Which one are you asking about. [So he might be trying to be intentionally creepy.] Even so, both could wipe all life on this planet out in no time.

[Because he totally needs more stupid crap to be able to do that with???]

Why is that always your go to example of how powerful you are? I realize you're from a warrior race, but come on.

And I don't know - which one does the tail transform you into?

I would gladly show you but- [He takes a look around-] I'm afraid Luceti simply isn't big enough to house me without stepping on a few things.

The other is another ascended form, unlike any other ever witnessed before. [He sounds pretty proud of that.]

It is. It is. [He even sounds excited. Like he's...almost putting himself in a good mood for a change.]

_{[ It's like listening to a madman cackle over a plot about to come together. It's both intriguing and a tad horrifying. Why did the Malnosso give him his tail back again? Oh, right, because they're dicks. ]}

Of course. [Standing straight, his fists fall to his sides, and he starts to transform- the wind picking up harshly and his body suddenly sprouting red fur, hair growing out and turning brown- until a big red monkey (who's a little taller now) stood before Kirk.

He only grins back. This is what he was so happy about. Looking like a big red monkey.]

He clapped a hand over his mouth to keep from laughing outright. A snort might escape. Maybe. But... come on. This was it? He was hairier and redder.

Indeed, like a monkey. Guess the tail made sense now. ]

Hmf. [He can't imagine Kirk having anything good to say about it, but since Kirk's not saying anything against it, he doesn't care. He thinks he looks great anyway!]

It's quite the...primal transformation. Suiting of our race. In fact, in this form, I'm as thirsty as ever for battle.

[He could totally go for killing something right about now. He really could.]
