Arriving back in Luceti, he returns home, genuinely happy for a change. Because all the hard work has finally paid off. A brown, long monkey tail pokes out of a hole he's created in the seat of his pants, a reward he's been seeking since he found out it was possible. He felt stronger with it. Now he could reach his maximum potential, a level of power he hasn't had access to since he arrived here. He keeps his tail unwrapped, not feeling any danger of having it grabbed or cut off.

But, the tail comes with its own problems. Problems he hasn't had to worry about in thirty years...

Action

A:

[In the morning, he's headed right for the Clothing Shop, getting new pants for the moment with holes in it for his tail. On the way, he seems to be walking normally, tail bobbing behind him, but he's still a little wobbly. So much that out of the blue, he loses his balance...and crashes, right into you. Or maybe he didn't crash into you, maybe you were just walking by when he started to faceplant and his tail instinctively just wrapped around your arm and took you with him on accident. Or maybe he's hanging onto you by his tail because you are heavy enough not to get dragged down.]

B:

[All that shopping has made him sort of hungry, so he heads to Seventh Heaven to get a bite to eat, mowing down food like a vacuum. But it won't go without something happening on the way there. That book you were reading, the coffee you were drinking, or whatever it is you've got, there's a tail wrapping around it trying to thieve it right out of your hands. He doesn't know his tail is doing that, but it's doing its own bit of exploring and wrapping around things. The Malnosso couldn't let him go home without a little bit of mischief, after all.]

C:

[After all is said and done, he's going right to the Battle Dome to test things out. Inside, those who frequent the Dome would find that the man with the golden hair isn't there today- instead there's a man covered in red fur, wild brown hair, and looking quite simian instead of human. He's going through his drills, for speed and strength, taking advantages of the shifts placed on the walls to test out the power of his ki blasts, rocking the room inside. He's coming out every hour to reset the simulation, keeping the form up. He's taller, by a grand total of two more inches, setting him at a towering 5'7''.

Though there is a point in time where he's reverted back to his base form, and he's...latched his tail in what looks like a clamp. And he's leaning forward, using his body weight to pull on it almost as if he's trying to stretch his tail. Either way, it looks painful, especially when he screams in pain, gritting his teeth. What is he doing? Who knows.]

Because you just made an earthquake that shook the whole building and made beams! I didn't ever know what you could do. Saori just told me she really really trusted you and you did training with her. [ Or something like that. ]

Well I don't punch anything to do that. Just so you know. [He guesses that's a fair explanation.] All I've got to do is raise my power level. Then you can kiss this entire enclosure goodbye.

[He wouldn't do that. But just an example. Because he likes to brag.]

[ Power level... also, that sure is some bragging but nobody wants any real life examples of that, no. ]

So that's the energy that was around you like a light? You build that up around you... and then you use it to attack? You don't have to direct it with your body at all?

[ He's trying to think it out as he's talking. Using pure energy attack - it's not completely out there considering the way people attack, but not putting any bodily force behind it and making a whole building - this building - shake?

Maybe it's just because he doesn't have pokémon mentally strong like that, but that's very... interesting. ]

It's called ki, first off. Or energy. Whatever you prefer. [He sounds annoyed by all the questions.] I can manipulate it any way I choose. I'm not a rookie, you know. And I've got enough of it that I could fight for days without having to rest.

[ Doesn't he always sound annoyed? Or is that just Red's memory of him that makes him think that? ]

Then is ki only something you or special people can do? There's a guy who has a power he can manipulate to do stuff, but only he and people like him can use it.

[ Hopefully explaining why he's asking will make it sound less annoying...! ]

I don't think even the most really trained pokémon could keep up energy attacks for days.

No. Every living thing has ki. Even a weakling like yourself. It's a latent power, a life energy that must be drawn out, but not everyone can do it. [He sort of examines Red.]

You're too puny to even attempt it.

[ Wooowww. That puts on a more-familiar face onto Red, just as he's folding up his arms in front of him. ] I'm not thinking about me - I'm thinking about my pokémon!

[ But he unfolds his arms following that. ]

I know I'm using up your training time right now, but if you know about controlling energy and bringing it out, can you tell me about it?

[He sighs. Not this again.]

And why should I bother wasting my time telling you? You've been nothing but a nuisance.

I may be a nuisance, but you still nagged me about doing a better job before, right? So you care at least a lil' about people doing it right with training.

And if there's really something you know about controlling energy that my pokémon can do, that's going to be worth it in a fight where we're all on the same side. [ Or meant to be. ]

How should I know if your peanut-brained pokémon can do anything about it? [He glares at Red. Yeah, he does care, because he wants the Third Party dead. And he hates the fact that he can't do it himself.]

You don't know anything about them if you're calling them that. [ Glaring right back at Vegeta he motions out an open arm towards the room. ] But if you really want to see if they can do anything in a fight, we'll show you. We'll simulate the soldiers and you can see what they can do. You'll see the energy moves they can do too.

I've seen your pokémon fight before. There's no need. [He remembers watching them train.] I can solve that issue right now. Does it look like this?

[He holds his hand out, energy forming in the palm of it, before he lets a large blast fly at the far wall. The explosion sends a forceful wind back at the two of them, the room filled with a blinding light for a moment. He stands, staring at Red.]

[ (he's so rude.........................!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

Red has to whip up an arm to shield his face from the light and the wind, but then lets it down once everything has calmed. That sensation, it's way stronger but... ]

Yeah, like that. That's like what Snorlax does. 'Cept Venusaur's are more nature-y, she takes in the energy from the sun and plants to use.

[He narrows his eyes.] Your pokémon can do that. Really. [He hardly believes it.]

[Even so, he's placing his hands in front of him, palms facing one another.]

[ Ugh. ] Not like that. Snorlax has to charge up more, and then there's like that same kind of light over his body, [ he motions down himself in example ] and Venusaur's comes from the top of her flower.

[ He nearly puts his hands on his waist, but instead he takes a few steps, half-turning ] But if you're gonna talk like that about it, I'll show you! Okay? We're just next door so lemme get them!

[He puts his hands down for the moment.]

Fine. Go ahead and get them. I want to see.

[ And he's gone! All the pokémon have been waiting for him inside their own room where he leaves Pikachu to keep for them with the door shut, just in case anyone tries to nick it. Okok, don't lose it for them and we'll tell you anything interesting that happens.

It only needs to take about a minute, maybe less - quickly explain what's up, get them in their balls and get back to Vegeta. He doesn't wait for Vegeta to say anything, letting out both the pokémon back out into the room at two different sides and some distance from himself, the thrown balls moving back to him once the beasts inside are released. ]

Okay - I'll show you the smaller versions first. Saur, I want you to make the ball and Snor, put the energy into your fists like for the earthquake we've been practising. Show him how you do it.

[ Saur nods while Snorlax gruffs in response, but they both get to charging up. The flower pokémon's leaves shake as from the centre of her flower - but above the seed that sticks out - a white, with an aura of green around it, light begins to form up into a ball. It's nothing of the size that Vegeta had caused but it blasts off and hits at the wall with a bang when it hits.

Snorlax's earthquake is less modest for a quick show. His paws flare up with energy around them and growing as he squeezes them in, and he waits until he's built it up enough before crashing them down straight onto the floor. That's loud and shakes the ground, and afterwards Snorlax punches his fists like NO BIG DEAL, HE COULD DO THAT ALL DAY.

Once Red's own feet feel stable again he looks over to Vegeta. ]

So? Is it the same to you?

[He can sense the energy that the two of them give off to start their attacks, and he can feel it spike as they gather enough to let their attacks loose. It's not quite the same, but there are similarities. He doesn't move through Snorlax's earthquake, keeping stable as he stares the pokémon down.]

Yes and no. Your dinosaur is using some kind of strange energy I've never felt before. The fat one, however, is using something similar to my own. Only he's much, much weaker. How does that one gather the energy necessary for that attack? [He points to Saur.]

[ YOU HEAR BUDDY, THAT'S A SCOFF FROM SNORLAX. WHATEVER. ]

Saur's a plant, so I guess it's energy made from the sun she's taken in? The bigger version of that is called a solar beam, so... [ Makes sense right?? ]

She doesn't need to be in the sun to use it, just be healthy and moving around. But does it work better if she's in the sun - she can charge up much faster, and her hits are stronger too.

And you want them to utilize their energy, huh. Well, if you really want to know, they just might be able to do it. [He shoots another unimpressed look at Snorlax's way.] From my world, only those who have physically and mentally trained diligently for decades can have the discipline to wield the power. When it comes to humans, that is.

[There are, of course, exceptions.]

Who knows about those two. [Indicating Saur and Snorlax again.]

[ He huffs behind his mouth. ]

Those two have only been travelling with me for half a year now and they can already tap into the power like you saw, and Saur's only been fighting for as long as I've been a trainer! If they can do that, do you really think they can't do more?

[ This old guy always has to sound so snobby! ]

No human in my world can dream about being as strong as a pokémon. Ever.

Yeah, I know, believe me. [He's heard enough from trainers in Luceti to know that much about their opinions about pokémon.]

You think they can do it, fine. I'll only explain this once, and you are on your own from here, got it?

[ His lips purse together, and he looks over to the two pokémon for a moment before looking back to Vegeta.

If this could really help? Then- ]

Alright. We're listening.

Look. [He holds his hands out, with the palms facing one another. A small orb of energy forms there.] That is what you want. That is the energy you need to fuel yourself for days on end for battle. But it is a power that comes from the core of your body, and the training needs to be more than just fighting opponents.

I would suggest gravity training. If you think they can handle it.

Gravity training? [ Huh? He's never heard of it before... ] What do they have to do?
