Okay, but... why? What actually drove you to make that choice? What actually made you want to destroy a planet - you know, with people?

You've got to understand that Saiyans are a warrior race. A war-like people, aggressive and thriving on fighting and killing. It was what we were born to do. Some of us have managed to quell that urge, but that doesn't mean we still don't enjoy every second of it when we are fighting.

Ruthlessness is simply what drove the want to destroy planets. Because it was entertaining. Because we could. We are the mightiest race in the galaxy, and we made sure everyone knew it. [A simple fact, to him.]

Retreat? Absolutely not! We never lost. [Said with a small chuckle. He understands now it was wrong, but he's still proud of his race.]

We had our own planet that no one outside of the Organization dared to trespass in, but if anyone visited it was always on business. Like I said before, we didn't exactly own our own world due to being held in bondage by that fool tyrant. [It is what it is.] Who I'll be pleased to tell you died by a Saiyan's hand. [But anyway-]

If we had been free, the universe would be under our control and ruled by me. But as you can see things didn't exactly pan out that way. [He's sort of bragging but not? Because he's not upset with the life he lives now. In fact he's pretty content with it.]

Okay... But why would you need to rule? Why would you refuse to be part of, say, a Federation? And I guess... furthermore, what were your attack patterns? How did you come in at a planet? Was it different for different planets, or did you just do the same thing for each one?

There was no Federation to speak of. There was only Frieza's rule, and you didn't dare cross him. But to rule? It was meant to be our destiny! The strongest race to rule over all, and throw out any who were unworthy. [Just had to get rid of Frieza first.]

We simply landed on the planet, and proceeded to destroy their population until the pledged their allegiance to the Organization, or we wiped them out completely. There was no race that could stand against Saiyan might, even highly technologically advanced ones. Each would try, and fail just as miserably as the next. [Yeah...nukes don't have any effect on Saiyans.] I myself took a planet alone as a small boy, if that gives you any indication.

I found my own reason to stop. But if you're looking for an answer to stop an entire race of warriors, good luck. Because it won't happen.

Well, you're their prince. If you had said stop, would they? Or would they think you're a coward and just blow you apart too?

Well, it looks like you may not be as stupid as you look. I'm more than certain telling a bunch of bloodthirsty warriors they had to live in peace would go over wonderfully. [The sarcasm couldn't be dripping more.] I'd expect an uprising in no time at all. I'd be the laughing stock of the planet for making demands like that. [Not that it mattered anymore. :( ]

And you know what would happen? I'd have to kill every single one of them that stood against me. Does that make any sense to you?

No, not really. It sounds primitive and down right stupid, if you ask me. You're making an enemy of the whole galaxy, and you don't have enough sense to think that killing off your best fighters isn't exactly sound battle tactic.

But that's just my opinion.

There's no need to worry when you're the strongest being in the universe. [He shoots back, because that's how things work where he's from.]

I'd be ready for one. And if these Romulans are anything like Saiyans, expect death. [He doubts they're as powerful as his race, but hey, different realities here.]

Ever heard the saying there's always something higher up the food chain? Nature keeps a balance all its own.

It's just... I didn't make a huge habit of studying them, but we had to in Academy. They had some sort of weird honor based system. As a warrior, would you think there's a way to exploit that?

[He'll just roll his eyes; Saiyans were the top of the food chain after all.]

In battle, there is no honor. It's play to win. If you want the advantage, you'd better learn about this honor system of theirs, and hope they follow it. And then manipulate their pride.

It works every time.

All right. I'll have to quiz Uhura more when I get back to the Enterprise then... and I think I'll make sure I start a section for Saiyans, just in case.

Don't bother. If you have Saiyans in your universe, you're as good as dead anyway. Just take my advice, it might help you in the end. I've seen quite a bit more combat than you anyhow so I'd suggest listening to what I have to say.

You're not one for offering hope, are you? I don't give a crap what you say about your race or not, I'm not going to tell anyone to just lie down and take it while some over-testeroned, god-complexed race tries to put our lights out for no reason other than they can. Screw that.

It's really not hard to understand. Get them to do something stupid. Then take advantage of it. How you go about it is up to you. You want to win? You've got to play a little dirty sometimes.

No, they don't. And you can't expect them to play fair either, so I don't see why you should have to if the entire universe is at stake.

I guess it has something to do with looking back on it and not hating yourself for what you did.

Now, if you go by that idea then it's very possible you'll go insane, depending on what exactly you did.

Yeah, maybe. But maybe you just make sure the decisions you make don't lead you there either. Or if they do, it's further down the road.
