[He doesn't turn on the video right away. Instead he stares at the journal for a second, thinking to himself- she's already angry but he knows how to deal with it. He hopes.]

[Finally he turns it on, staring straight back at the face of his much younger wife, keeping his expression pretty flat.]

Do you honestly think I'm having children with you without your knowledge? I didn't knock you out or anything, and if I recall you were very much conscious and enjoying yourself at the time. So why don't you pipe down for a second on the matter before you wake up half the village.

[Vash is waiting at Good Spirit for Vegeta to show up. He wasn't sure if the man was really going to come for the drinking contest so he's gotten started with a bit of whiskey. Sipping at it as he waits.]

[He walks in, a little late because he actually hadn't known where in the cosmos the bar actually was. He spots Vash pretty easily though, walking up to him and taking a seat next to him.]

You know you're not doing yourself any favors by giving yourself a handicap. [He grins, and waves the bartender down so he can get something for himself.]

Even indoors, if the building doesn't have a high ceiling, there isn't much room to rise outside the range of someone on the ground. Outdoors, even the cover of a forest might slow them down.

[She'd probably brush off the question of why she thinks about these things by talking about the Drafts she's been on; but Vegeta is right to notice the thinking of a soldier creeping through.]

[She wakes up with a start and a gasp, the images of the nightmare still vivid in her eyes as she stares at the darkness of her room. She holds her breath for a few seconds as they fade away and her mind catches up with her body, eyes tracing shapes in the darkness thanks to the faint moon light that filters into the room. A warm and solid body behind her in the shared bed of the shared room and she let's go a sigh of relief.

Bulma lays there without moving for a few moments, long fingers crumbling the sheets as she breathes slowly. It doesn't last before she shakes her head, knowing that she's being an idiot for many reasons. There's no reason to be scared or worried. It's stupid and pointless. But even more, it's stupid that she remains there like that when waking up from a nightmare rather than turning and seeking refuge in her husband-to-be. She really should have gotten over those hesitations months ago, but part of her still feels shy about it, specially since it's just the three of them in the house. Vegeta and Bulla are from the same time, more or less, know the same things, things she will know but doesn't yet and at times she feels like an intruder. As if she's in a place where she shouldn't be, even when she reaffirms herself that it doesn't matter, that she will live what the future has for her now and have no regret or doubts about it. Because she's Bulma Brief and she takes what she wants when she wants, even from her future self.

She shifts and turns, not bothering to be careful to not wake him up because she wants him to wake up even if she won't call out for him or shake him awake, forcing him to pay attention to her in the middle of the night. If he wants he can keep sleeping, or feign that he is, she won't say anything and won't hold it against him. She wraps an arm around his chest, sighing again in relief at the feeling of strong muscles that rise and sink with his breathing. She moves even closer as her hand presses against his chest, feeling the heartbeat stored there and she presses her forehead against his body, breathing in his scent. Repeating to herself just how stupid she is for being scared. As if anything can kill this man anymore, short of him killing himself or Goku going crazy and attacking them, nothing can. And as this is a man that stays home and talks with his daughter, that trains with her and protects her equally, there's also no way anything can damage the kid either. They would have to get past him first, and nothing can do that.

And so, logic dictates that she's just being stupid freaking out over a nightmare.]

[July 25th, Action]

[He's been a light sleeper for a long time now. It was almost required. Living a life on the battlefield, sleeping only as much as necessary and using every second of everyday to become stronger does that to a guy, hellbent on vengeance and achieving the ultimate goal. But over the years, especially now, it had gotten better, he slept a little more soundly at night but her twisting and turning in the covers was enough to wake him before she even woke.

He lies there, mostly ignoring it and waiting for her to fall back asleep. Her hand slips up against his chest, and he feels her pull closer to him. His own hand reaches up and is placed on top of hers, pressing it lightly into his chest to indicate that he was indeed awake, and shifting his body to lean more into hers for the comfort of warmth.

He debates not saying anything, but decides against it- even now he is still working on really letting the idea of him caring for her more than a 'servant' sink in. So he speaks, his voice light in the darkness of their bedroom.]

Is everything okay? That was some impressive tossing and turning you had going on there.

I don't really think it's a problem if you ask me.

[She leans her head against his shoulder, comfortable besides him, it's the place where she wants to be the most after all.]

Sometimes quality is more important than quantity, after all. We may not have much time to rest and relax, but we certainly make use of every little time we have.

[Of course, having more is always preferred, but giving up a lot of time with her husband in order to see him raise in business and reach the top doesn't seem to her as a high price. So long as she can have him for at least a little while, to be hug in those strong and protective arms and kissed like when they were newly weds -which isn't something many of her friends can say about their marriages-, she'll be content.]

You know what I think about getting into things too soon anyway. Sure, it's more a challenge when you arrive to it after others are already there, but it would be boring otherwise. There would have been no competition.

[And without competition, without what little challenge other people could offer them, business would be just boring work. Full of duty and with no thrill to it. Making money just for the sake of making money instead to show the world just which company is the best.]

Ah, Cliff, yes, I remember him, how could I not? His work is pretty impressive, I'm sure he will come up with a great design for the motorcycle racing.

[There's a pause before she continues.]

So... Do you want Capsule Corporation to enter that world as a sponsor? With our own team and all? It sounds good.

[There's a huge "but" left unsaid and it's clearly obvious, even though her tone also makes clear that she fully agrees with Vegeta.]

[It took him a long time and a lot of practice, but Firo finally managed to draw out his energy. He can't actually do anything with it, so after more days of training he decides to ask for some more help. Besides, he wants to see how this guy will react when he wins the bet.

He doesn't feel like being polite to this guy, so he doesn't try to send a message over the journals before he troops over to Vegeta's house in the late morning. It's easy enough to remember where it is, even when it's not on fire. He knocks on the door.]

[August 22nd, Action]

[Who the hell comes knocking on his door, ever. He's taken the day off today, one of not many, and Bulla isn't home- so he gets up to answer the door.

Opening it, he sees Firo, and...barely remembers who he is.]

Their last meetings hadn't been particularly good ones, but Bulla had convinced him that Vegeta wasn't a totally awful sort of person. Besides, Trunks had gotten him thinking, and if the correlations matched up, well, it could be some very useful insight into a potentially deadly problem... ]}

So, I have some things I want to ask you - about Saiyans. You being their prince and all, I figure you have to have all the info, am I right?

You want to know about the Saiyans? Why the sudden interest? I thought we were just giant apes to you! [He's not too pleased to be hearing from Kirk, but at least he's being well-mannered.]

Late Night October 8th-- Action

[Vegeta.

Vegeta why?

Cliff was appalled by Vegeta's lack of care and consideration in his knock down, drag out duel with Goku, and meant to have words with Vegeta about that.

Unfortunately, that meant taking a more physical course of action.

Slipping out of the Community Building under darkness wasn't an unusual course for Cliff. As a night owl himself with a penchant for wandering up to the bar and listen in on idle chatter, so slipping out for a nighttime walk was a known habit of his. This time, however, he had a specific destination in mind.

He caught sight of the Saiyan. And moved.

The only thing that stopped him from launching into an Aerial Assault was all of the blood in sight, but that didn't mean he plannned to play too nice on this.]

Vegeta. [There was no laughter in his tone, but his irritation was obvious.] Let's get you back to your place, Asap.

Late Night October 8th-- Action

[Honestly, for as beat up as he looked, he felt pretty great considering. He'd beaten Kakarot, and that in itself was huge to the Prince. However, it still hurt to move a little, though it wasn't anything he couldn't handle. That assault was nothing in comparison to the battle he had with a particular dragon, now that was what he'd call pain. He's holding his arm as he walks himself back to his house, hearing a voice he recognized suddenly near him.]

[Turning, he sees Cliff- and then continues to keep walking.]

Where do you think I'm headed? I don't need help, by the way.

Late night October 8th, Action

[It was hard to miss the fireworks, frankly. It wasn't even a challenge guessing who'd been involved thanks to the Ban and Blessing on a certain someone. She approaches in the air, a silent tension hanging all around her as she floats over his way and lands a few feet in front of him.]

I see you met your friend.

I did indeed. And I've never felt better. [Says the man who is currently covered in blood heading home.]

[It's nearly a week after their conversation, but Fayt had needed a few days to mull over everything he'd learned and consider his options, which were almost as slim as he'd started with. Ultimately, well...

He really didn't have a lot to go on. It's for that reason he calls Vegeta early that day.]

[He was wondering when he'd hear back from the boy.]

Well? Go on, don't keep it all to yourself all day.

[ So much for "cooling off" at the casino. By the time she gets back to the villa, she's just as angry as she was at Bubble Land. Not only was she convinced that Vegeta must have gone through that shift with someone else, but he hadn't even bothered to try to find her afterward... And since he was being so clingy lately, he must have spent the rest of the day with whichever bimbo tricked him onto that boat with her.

Hoping that he's alone, for his sake as well as her own, she flings open the door finally. ]

OH, VEGETA!

[He has been home. He turned around and everyone was suddenly gone, and it hasn't been a pleasant experience for him. Sitting on the couch in their little room, he's trying very hard not to lose it from suddenly discovering that he was alone, cursing whatever the Malnosso most likely did to him to make him so afraid of being alone. And then trying to sort out the events of the day? It made his head spin, wishing they could just go back to Luceti so he wouldn't have to deal with this nonsense anymore.

The door flinging open startles him, making him jump in his seat- but it's Bulma, thank goodness. He didn't want to think about how much longer he'd have to remain here by himself.

Her voice, even though yelling, is a comfort. Someone's finally here with him and he doesn't have to be so scared anymore.]

[Nov 13, ACTION] the beginning of probably the shortest thread ever

[The earlier conversation with Trunks had left a sour taste in his mouth, so he's not particularly looking forward to talking to other people. Nevertheless, he feels a little obligated to at least say something before leaving the Brief house.

Thankfully it doesn't take him long to find Vegeta.]

Vegeta-san. Do you have a minute?

Yes, what is it. [He turns, from sitting on the couch trying to relax for a bit, having just finished with his day of training.]

January 9th

[Fayt showed up at the battledome... a little early. He'd wanted to make sure to be on time, especially after the announcement of a 'deadline' last month. He wasn't sure what Vegeta was planning, but he didn't want to risk making the man angry on top of whatever it was he'd do. He glances into the training room they usually use, looking around.]

Hey.

January 9th

[Oh good, Fayt's here. Hope you didn't think he'd forgotten about that little deadline.]

You're here. Good. Why don't you come on in. [His voice holds a tone of danger to it. He's set up at the panel, punching in some codes- just for his blue-haired friend.]

January 10, midday

[He had plenty of patience and plenty of respect for Fayt regarding any and all matters. The young man was competent and talented beyond his wildest dreams and, even with the heavy burden of reality hanging on him, kept a smile and positive attitude through everything. However, after Fayt's late-night return after what looked like one helluva day 'training', and seeing those oddly severe bruises, Cliff followed his gut and did what came naturally.

Vegeta was his only clue, and an easy enough starting point. Cliff approached his usual practice room at the Dome around midday and rapped on the glass observation window for his attention.]

Yo. Vegeta.

January 10, midday

[misterbrief]

[He's been doing some swordplay as part of his training today, the blade now being sheathed in the holder strapped across his back as he turns. Looking irritated that his training was being interrupted, he opens the chamber door and leans against the doorway, arms folded.]

This had better be important.

February 1, late evening

[Certain events that had occurred throughout the month had gotten Cliff side tracked from making good on having a night with Vegeta, but it was always better to do something late than not at all in Cliff's opinion. He had a hunch that there wouldn't be many more opportunities coming up within the next month if the Malnosso continued following the same pattern they had at this time last year-- with a weekend already missing from the community's memory, he had no doubts that he was probably close to the mark. Unfortunately.

He opened up an audio feed.]

Yo, Vegeta. You free tonight?

February 1, late evening

[Cliff. He wondered what the man wanted, until he suddenly remembered a request that he'd asked of the Saiyan a few weeks ago. But, best to make sure-]

It depends. What is that you want?

[Bulla's quite distressed by what she's just done. It had been an accident. Yes, she had meant to hurt that weirdo that called himself The Blade. He'd been obnoxious and gotten downright creepy. If she'd only bruised him and knocked him over, he would have deserved it. But that? Considering that death is a revolving door here, she can't bring herself to be too choked up over it, but she does feel guilty nonetheless.

She waits outside of the room her father's training in, arms wrapped around herself as she bites her lip. She's tense, and she wants the comfort of being around her father. Still, she's not dumb enough to charge into whatever training scenario he might be doing.]

[Luckily enough he's about done as it is, the door to the chamber finally opening to reveal a relatively worn out man, with a towel trying to dry himself off a little. It's then that he sees his daughter, obviously not dressed to be here to train at all- and looking nervous as is.

Knowing her well enough to know that there was probably something wrong, he makes his way right to her.]

Well, this is certainly a surprise. I wasn't expecting you here today.

[Well, it's a bit of an odd thing for Saori to go looking for Vegeta and not the other way around. But here she is, floating over to the Battle Dome and waiting for him to leave his simulation.]

Vegeta, we need to talk.

[He's finished up his training for the day, and much to his surprise he sees her waiting. For him, nonetheless. And he knows she would not come to bother him unless it was important like this.]

Why, what's going on?

February 16th, afternoon -> late afternoon

[Albel spent the time between storming out of Fayt's apartment and the afternoon fighting with himself over what he was going to do. Even he had to admit that confronting the Vegetable Head was probably going to be stupid; he could very well see the craters that worm had left behind near the cliff side. Actually confronting him was very likely going to end with him laying in a hospital bed.]

[Still, when did Albel ever do anything rational? That was why Vegeta got a "nice" note addressed to him over the journal.]

Meet me by the cliff side, near the site of your stupidity. We need to talk, worm.

[And Albel will wait, and stew in his annoyance. He's not in plane sight, but he's not trying to hide either; more waiting to see what Vegeta will do than actively trying to conceal himself.]

February 16th

[misterbrief]

[He gets the message and just stares at it. From this Albel character. Oh, he remembers this one, no one else around here as ever dared to call him a worm or a maggot before.

That's fine. He's been looking to get some frustration out anyway. So he flies out to where he'd destroyed part of the cliffside four months earlier, a blue trail in the sky that rockets down as he lands. One foot touches down and he catches himself with the other, the blue flaming aura fading away as he turns and looks around for the man who'd sent for him.]

HOT CHOCOLATE DAY(TE); written

[As promised, Kushina sends Vegeta a message the next day with this message]

I'll be at the coffee shop if you still want to hang out. I've got a cup of hot chocolate with your name on it. -Kushina

[His name is literally on the cup though.]

[He checks his journal as promised, seeing the message for him from her.

Now he doesn't wanna go. Now he's a little nervous and thinks this was an awful idea.

But he goes anyway. He pokes his head inside, looking for her, hoping not only that maybe she did stand him up after all and then he wouldn't have to worry, but at the same time he hopes that she'd be there. She said she'd be there. And he's got a good feeling she is.

Stepping inside, he spots her- and tries his best to shuffle over with confidence, even though he's still nervous about this. Girls, man.]

[Saori looks down and barely stifles a yelp when she realizes what she's done. All the kissing and hugging and being close has clearly had an effect on him and she'd just...completely forgotten that men were wired that way. And she'd done it.

And after only a moment's thought, she slips closer to him, pulling him into a tight embrace.]

I don't mind. But...I'd rather take care of you, if...that's alright. I didn't mean to get you worked up like that. I just...forgot.

[ This isn't the first time Kakashi's seen this man perform his truly impressive, awe-inspiring training at the Battle Dome. He's watched him before, moving at such speed, only Gai would physically be able to keep up with him, with dropped weights and at least six gates open. Though the Sharingan picks up his movements, Kakashi knows going up against him would be pretty much an impossible feat.

Which only makes him want to meet this man more, because maybe he could learn how to train his body to move as quickly as his.

When he realizes that the training session is wrapping up, it occurs to him that maybe he can make introductions a little warmer with a nice gesture, and heads off to pick up a nice, cold sports drink and a fresh towel. He's not sure if the man will even take either, but it's worth a shot.

Kakashi loiters outside the training room, in hopes of catching the man when he exits. ]

[Inside the sim, Kakashi will see various floating machines, bouncing what looks like pure energy off of each other, seemingly hundreds of little beams creating a moving maze to dodge and avoid. It's a horizontal and vertical game of if he can reach each bot without getting hit, seemingly popping in and out of thin air as he gets to each one, pressing a little button on the side to deactivate the bot.

Finally, Vegeta exits his simulation, no worse for the wear and glad for the break, noticing the ninja but not saying anything. He recognizes Kakashi, but he does as he always does, ignores him. He figures if people have something to say to him, they'll say it.]

[Saori's heading down from the hot springs after her early afternoon bath when when she gets a strange sensation. Vegeta's blessings are a lot closer than she'd expected, meaning he's back from his mission. And...while she'd been giving him a bit of space, she was a lot less upset after her talk to Yuuna and a few dream-filled nights. And it was unavoidable that she'd see him, since he was clearly in the rec-center.

So, through the teleporter she goes, her slacks, t-shirt, and jacket all done up nice and neat.

And when she leaves the pad she's somewhat surprised to find him sitting on a couch. Watching television.

With...what appears to be Goku! on the screen.

She's crossing the room quickly, her arm coming down on Vegeta's shoulder, her other hand on her lip in shock.]

Is...is that...?!

[misterbrief]

[He's not expecting to see her here. He hears her shuffles and looks back and sees her, not quite ready for her appearance but knowing that he'd have to see her sooner or later. He had time to think and his own things to worry about over the course of the mission he'd just gone on. He could handle her being here.]

Yes, quiet, sit down if you want to see. Hurry up, you don't get to see Kakarot in Super Saiyan Three very often.

After the Bebi thing/timebreakingmaybew/e

[There's a brilliant flash of lightning, a clap of thunder and the sickening sound of a fist impacting on flesh, and the battle is over. Whatever it was that'd taken over her friend lay defeated, covered in bruises, burns and lacerations. They'd won. It'd been hard, but...it was over.

What happened next was all a blur. Her body lurches into frantic motion, and Saori blasts him with Nala's healing power, trying to staunch whatever bleeding was happening. Without knowing it she's casting out the darkness inside his unconscious form, and after he seems to be stabilized she lifted his unconscious form on a bed of clouds and hauled him to a bed back in her castle. To Hell with doctors, she told herself angrily, she'd deal with it personally.

Whenever he wakes up, Vegeta will find it's several hours later, and that he's been bandaged. Saori herself is seated in a chair nearby, and when he does stir, she jerks her attention to his face. It's bruised, and she's got a black eye and a split lip. Her gi, soaked in sweat, is torn a bit and covered in dirt...but she doesn't seem all that concerned with it.]

You're...awake...

[It's barely a whisper, but it's full of relief, and mingled with concern.]

[His eyes open, and all he can feel is how battered and sore his body is. Like it's been used and abused as if he'd just fought a battle to the death. He can't even get up yet, and the bandages on his body haven't registered. The headache he's got is almost too much to bear, as he grits his teeth in pain.]

What happened? [He winces, it hurts to even talk.]

During the Bebi plot [March 6-7]

[Everything in his mind felt heavy and clouded. He has experienced physical pain but this was far different. It felt as if he was being beaten from the inside. Feeling feverish, he tries to drift asleep. Perhaps, just perhaps this will all fade in the morning. Least that's what he hopes.

Seventeen drifts into sleep, hoping to ignore this pain. Finally he drifts off.]

[misterbrief]

[He's still sitting at the bar, finishing his drink and getting up to leave. He can tell that the android was succumbing to his cells, as he reached out and felt it start to link with Seventeen's mind. Smiling, he exits the bar and heads home for the moment. He doesn't need to be around him to control him, and that's just fine by Bebi.

He waits until it's taken full effect, before he speaks to Seventeen again.]
