It was a little easier a few months ago. [Back when he had his best friend returned from the dead and his child living with him.]

Sounds easy enough. Fifty-fifty chance either of us will end up drinking then.

[He remembered. Whatever Vash called family had disappeared and the little boy taken away. He's probably going to avoid that subject the rest of the night, since they were supposed to be enjoying themselves at least. However Vash can bring it up if he wants.] So, I have to ask; are you human? You have a strange Ki but I never cared enough to ask you previously. Not a lot of humans are capable of that kind of power. And if I remember correctly we spoke first near the beginning of my time here, and I was far more preoccupied with gathering my bearings and controlling my rage for the most part at being captured and imprisoned here.

[He shuffles the deck in his hands, not so gracefully as maybe someone who's done it their whole life, but he manages, and puts the deck face down. He draws a card, taking a look at it- and looks up.]

Whenever you're ready.

No, I'm not. [Perhaps if he hasn't just spent three years in a world where that isn't uncommon he would have been a bit more hesitant. Now though it's easier to say.] I'm a Plant. [One born with free will.] Well, it's a bit complicated, but I'm not a tree or anything like that. [He met a tree man here once.]

Hmm, [He considers the card in Vegeta's hand.] Black.

[Vegeta scowls, and turns the card over. It's black. And as promised, he grabs his own bottle of scotch and takes a swig. He makes sure to grab another, peeking at it and looking back up.]

A Plant huh? You wouldn't happen to have a planet called Planet Plant in your world, now would you? Because one existed where I'm from. [He'll get to asking what a Plant is soon enough. But he finds this ironic first.]

Not that I know of. I'm from the planet Gunsmoke. [Depending on how many cards he fails to guess will depend on the answers Vegeta will be getting out of Vash tonight.]

[He waves the next card at Vash. Time to guess again!]

That would have been quite the irony, considering that planet I just mentioned is my home planet. Though it was not named Plant when I was conceived. [He takes another drink just for the hell of it. Vegeta, no.]

Black.

Yeah? I guess they wanted something a little more creative. What did they end up renaming it.

What! [He flips the card over for Vash to see- it's black again. He turns his mouth up, but he takes another swig. Not fair!]

It was named after my father. So it was renamed Planet Vegeta. Now, tell me why they call your race Plants, considering that all I can think of is vegetation.

[WAIT! WAIT! WAIT! WAIT!] And, what was your name again?

I've told you my name once before. [He sneers a little bit, but he'll remind him of his name.] It's Vegeta. Prince Vegeta, remember now? [He draws another card, waving it to let Vash know to guess.]

That- that's what I thought. So. Were you named after your father? Or the planet?

Red.

[This time Vegeta grins. The card is flipped over for Vash to see- and it's black. Vegeta is a shitty shuffler, apparently.]

After my father. Don't be ridiculous. The planet was named after him once we conquered it.

[Vash takes his drink with no qualms.]

You conquered it? [He has never liked these kind of talks. It makes his initial response of: what? Are Saiyans terrible at naming things die on his lips.]

Was there something wrong with your original home?

Information about our original place of origin is very muddled. I don't know if we arrived on the planet or if we lived there for our entire existence. Both stories have been told and honestly I don't know which is true.

Either way, it doesn't matter because the planet doesn't exist anymore. [Vegeta's definitely starting to feel the effects of his drinks, or else he might not of just volunteered that information. He's not drunk but he's just slightly buzzed. He then draws another card.]

It doesn't? I'm sorry. I know it's not easy to lose your home. Especially if it's the entire world.

[Vash almost feels bad continuing to play while talking about this kind of thing, but if Vegeta want's to keep going.]

Red.

Have you found a new home? Or do you live on a ship now?

[Black again. Don't let Vegeta shuffle the cards ever again.]

I don't want your pity. What's done is done and there's nothing else to it. I've decided to reside permanently on Earth, so it's not as if I have no place to go. [And to be fair, he doesn't look really upset about it. He'd come to terms with it since then.]

Living as an earthling isn't as bad as I originally thought. I guess.

[He draws another card.]

[So long as the Earth stays liveable. But he keeps that thought to himself as he takes his drink.] I'm glad you found a good place to live then.

...and are you sure you shuffled those? I think I'll go back to black now.

[The card is red. Vegeta grins, now they're tied and if this keeps up he'll be more than pleased. It means he'd be winning, at least at the card game.] Of course I did! [Badly.]

And what of you? I've never heard of Gunsmoke before. Sounds like a bad Earth movie. [He doesn't really watch them. But he's been around long enough to know what they are.]

It probably is. A planet that's nothing but desert with two suns, but we just make due with what we got is all.

[Crap. How did this talk get back to him and his world all of a sudden?] Our weather is just hot or even hotter. What about yours?

Also, next time I'm shuffling. Red.

[The card is turned over and- it's red. Which results in an annoyed look from the Prince, but when he drinks his he might of taken too big of a swig and downed enough for two shots...]

Heh. That planet probably wouldn't of even been worth the time to allow to exist let alone conquer. [Vegeta no, you don't do that anymore, stop.] You should consider leaving that place when you return home before someone decides just that and blows it up.

[He ignores the weather question. Vegeta is not interested in talking about the weather. But he does draw another card.]

...world's being blown up is that common in your universe?

Black.

Practically everyone I know has the power to destroy an entire world without hardly lifting a finger. Luckily for the rest of the universe they're not interested in that sort of thing. They're all just a bunch of goody two-shoes if you ask me. [He takes another drink from his bottle.]

[Then he finally flips the card over, and it's red, resulting in another wicked grin. Despite that he takes another drink regardless that he didn't even have to. He's very confident that he can hold his alcohol.] Can't you do that too?

[Vash takes his drink, but decides to only drink when he must now that Vegeta feels like digging into his life.]

I... I don't know. I don't think so. [He's never tested his power really. Could he? Knives had said that it was only about a thirteen percent output. Maybe he could.]

Is there something wrong with being a goody two-shoe?

Well then, I guess you need to work on that don't you. [Another card is drawn.]

Yes, because then you become some half-wit that runs around in a super hero costume trying to fight crime and strike stupid poses. [He will never get over Gohan doing that. Never.]

Know someone who does that, huh?

Red.

Although, I suppose it's better then being an outlaw who still tries to fight crime and makes stupid poses. [Takes a drink, just because he can.]
