[It's been a few days since Father's Day. And he got a really nice surprise from his daughter that he never thought possible. Bulla training and honing her skills and power, it really meant something to him; so he's flipping his journal open now since Luceti played a large part of it. He's not even angry this time.]

It's come to my attention that a good number of you had a hand in the gift I received over the weekend. I will say I'm impressed- the lot of you have done the impossible with my daughter Bulla and it most certainly paid off. So for that...[His voice trails off, since saying these sorts of things isn't exactly natural to him.] For that I am grateful. I know a good portion of the time we are safe inside this barrier, but you must understand that I worry for her safety regardless.

So I suppose this is the part where I ask something else not so specific. The gift I received was for your Earthling holiday Father's Day. I've never put much stock in such things, but this last weekend certainly has changed my mind about it a little. Is this something you also observe in your own worlds? And if so, what is it that you've done or would do that you would consider worthy of your father?

Absolutely not. That dog rules Earth and my father ruled ours, so it's not surprising to me in the least.

Aah-- The 'popular' I'm talking is less the 'shake in your boots' kind and more the 'hey, why hasn't this guy shut up' kind. [He sipped from his glass, mulling things over.]

It just kinda happened by a process of elimination too. They were annoyed enough and Quark was convenient enough.

[He lifted his shoulders in a shrug and took another sip. Their worlds really were pretty different.]

Interplanetary politics must be a lot like the U.N.

[That time, the likely unknown reference is intentional. For trolling purposes.]

Yeah. I'm not so comfortable with that idea if it turned out to be a four year old girl or something. I'm sure the smell of burning flesh isn't quite the aroma one's home would go for either.

But I guess I'll hope it landed in a sadist's house. That's a pretty nice treat.

[He gives an audible sigh.

He knows perfectly well he wouldn't be where he was today without the people in his life. In a way, he's glad, but he doesn't have to like it. It was what it was. He'd learned, in time.]

Well, that makes one of us. If I'd of had my way, all my friends would be dead by now when I met them. [Is he being serious? Ami can decide that.

Sounds like you didn't destroy enough of the enemy for them to realize exactly who they were dealing with. [He's drinking more, which is probably really bad for him at this point. He might be telling Cliff things that might not paint such a good portrait of the Saiyan Prince. And there was a lot of negatives to the guy. But then, Cliff did see Vegeta's ruthlessness during the draft. He thinks about that, before continuing on.]

Kill enough of them off and they'll learn not to cross paths with you. But that's not your style, now is it? You'd rather leave them alive! Well. Heh. [He downs yet another drink.] Why exactly is that anyway? Do you think they'll change?

[If she was aiming to make him more angry, she certainly got it. He is visibly much more annoyed.]

I doubt anything from your universe could compare. [Yeah, he's not asking what the U.N. is because he really doesn't give two shits.] I'm sure you've managed to travel the stars from that bedroom of yours that you can't seem to move out of.

I'm sure the girl will get over it. [Yeah. Vegeta had a fucked up childhood.]

I don't know though, Tenten. If it did you'll be having some freak make lamps and furniture out of the bodies. I don't know about you but even that's a little too much for my tastes.

[But his childhood was not that fucked up. Sort of.]

[This is too important to let go, but Ami needs a moment to decide how to approach it. She needs a second moment to realize he's saying enemies became friends. That's a reassuring thought, and she has something similar.]

When I met my friends, I didn't know if we could really become friends after all. I'm glad that we did, though. And some of our enemies back then have become our comrades again, too.

[This is a resounding success, really. Is that a faint smirk on her face in the picture window? (Probably.)]

It's a world... organization. [She can't really call it a government.] It shouldn't take too much to imagine each country has its own ideas about how everything should be run.

[Cliff had indeed seen the depths of Vegeta's ruthlessness, and wasn't terribly surprised by the turn in the conversation. Prior ones on this topic had danced around the same themes, but he had never seen Vegeta speak so passionately about it.]

It's politics. [He drank more, feeling the familiar lucidity that a few beers gives a man.] You don't just go around killing people-- that'll be a good way to get yourself on the galaxy's top ten most wanted list.

Technically mouth would've worked just fine, but hey, I'll give you an A for effort.

[At any rate, Dash makes haste in hurrying to the southern part of the village, per expectation. Her sheer speed leaves a very colorful streak in the sky, as a matter of fact!]

I am most sorry! [Then the video feed shifts as Lee starts rushing forward, whipping the journal around before him. Moments later, the journal is on the bathroom floor capturing Rock Lee rigorously washing his hands in the sink while crying.]

And please do not worry! I will train hard before we fight again. I will be a truly worthy opponent one day!

[That was an interesting way for her to put it.]

Your enemies huh? Turned into comrades? Well, that explains something to me. [Why would she call them that, she's just a doctor right? Ami he is giving you the eye, because this isn't the first time she's made a reference to fighting.] Anyway, that's fine and all that you've got some. I certainly could get long without.

That's why you solve that little problem by having a king. Then there isn't a question anymore nor any room for preposterous squabbles of how things are run.

Perhaps you should just blow up their entire base of operations. Let's see them rebuild from that. Make sure all their leaders are inside when you do it, then take control of the situation from there. It'll make for a good fireworks show, wouldn't you say? [He downs another drink. He'd lost count of how many he's had already, but it takes a lot to get a Saiyan drunk. He's getting there, though.]

Then who's list are you going to be on after that anyhow? Maybe the galaxy's top ten most feared. It's a much better list to be on.

I never know with you ponies. [He's learning slowly. He dreads the day 'anypony' gets slipped into his vocabulary on accident. He'd never consciously say it.]

[Either way, he meets Dash right where he'd said he would, flying over there himself, a blue streak through the air as he plants himself down at the appointed spot.]

Alright then. The circumference of the barrier is roughly five-hundred miles, plus the one-hundred it would take you to get to the edge and back to here. Let's see how fast you can fly it in, pony.

[If she can move as fast as she claims, he expects her back at the starting point no slower than forty minutes for mach one, and even faster for higher speeds. No less than three minutes for mach ten.]

Yes, yes, yes. [Said irritably with an eyeroll to accompany.] ...Make sure you wash your hands one more time. [For his peace of mind.]

[As tempting as it was to close the tab on a Vegeta at that point, Cliff wasn't reckless enough to mess with a drunk Saiyan. There was no telling what would happen...

Besides. He wasn't drunk enough to be that crazy. Talking politics was crazy enough.]

...Lissen. I think we're talkin' at two different things here. Blowing things up is just gonna make anarchy. I thought we went through this already.

[Their ideas, while similar, were tempered by wildly different methods of action and a basic moral compass. As much as the bureaucrats pissed him off, Cliff knew that they were a necessary part of the puzzle. You can't fix a thing if you burn everything to the ground. Then you just have a mess.]

[She doesn't say much to follow those ideas, but she very much follows the concept of friendship.]

I don't think anyone really wants to be without friends. [It's a very, very lonely way to be. Even if you tell yourself you're strong enough and used to it, even if you are strong and used to it.]

A lot of countries found out kings didn't work so well. They fought wars to get rid of them. I don't think you'll convince them all to like it again. Or decide on the same one.

I'd still feel bad. I mean, she's probably experienced worse but I don't want to add onto the trauma plate. [ Tenten's... more considerate than Vegeta. This is weird. ]

That's a little too much for my tastes too. I don't want a skull lamp made out of an actual skull. [ beat. ] That's just tacky.

[Uh... wow, this guy sure has his egghead stuff down. Dash takes a few moments to star, slightly dumbfounded, before her usual cocky grin crosses her lips, and she starts beating her wings.]

Ha! Just remember that the power cap's holding me back from showing you my real speed... but I think I can still blow you away.

[And, just like that, she takes off with a flash of color, rattling any nearby trees as she zips past them. It'll probably take her around that forty minutes to make it back, but Dash isn't complaining; as far as she's concerned, she's a speed machine!]
