[Hey, look, he's back with another subject that he's getting real sick and tired of explaining to people. That and after all the crap that's happened to him in the past few months, maybe it wouldn't be such a bad idea to let people know, especially after a conversation he had with Cliff recently.]

Now I'm only going to explain this to the lot of you once. Now watch.

[He's out next to a sheer cliff, at the base of the mountain range. The camera is set on top of another rock, as to show the Saiyan Prince with his hand raised and aiming toward the rock wall- and as soon as it's raised, a blast of energy decimates the wall with a loud boom, leaving it as a rocky heap, the dust slowly settling. Vegeta hasn't flinched, and is coming back to pick up his journal again. This may also give away exactly who was responsible for all those explosions that were heard from last week, if people are smart enough to put two and two together.]

Now, with enough diligent training and meditation, which you should be doing anyway, any of you can do that. It's a simple matter of controlling your energy, but if you're not physically fit enough you're not going to be able to do it. In fact, I'd be surprised if even one percent of you manage to be able to achieve even a fraction of the same destructive force I possess. Either way, that might be something you'll all want to start aiming for. And if you're too weak to fight? Fix it.

Now don't misunderstand me. I'm not looking to pick up students. But if you think you can handle it? Then come find me. We'll see what you're made of.

Private to Firo:

Boy, you've stayed hidden long enough. I've got someone for you to meet.

Private to Cliff:

I do believe you and I have things to discuss yet. I'll not have you jumping me anymore with those pathetic attacks of yours, we're fixing that.

Private to Saori:

If you want to see how it's done, I'll be in the Battle Dome the rest of the day. Don't be late.

Action:

[As promised, he'll be at the Battle Dome if anyone decides to try to seek him out. He'll be actually in a chamber, training in a complete power suppressed simulation, working on his battōjutsu that he's taken up learning. Otherwise, those who know where to find him at home can find him at House 29.]

[Ami seems like a spot of calm, with a level voice and thoughtful expression. She offers Vegeta a small smile and polite greeting first, but she has a quiet reminder for him.]

Not everyone's role is to fight. [She says this as both a soldier whose role is to fight, and the doctor whose talents lie in another place entirely but who still has a contribution to make.]

Ami. You know as well as I that it's becoming increasingly unavoidable. [It's nice to talk to someone sensible that doesn't make his head hurt. He understands what she's getting at, but...]

I understand that; but everyone has their own ways of contributing to that effort and their own strengths.

[Not that she disapproves of training, of course.]

Still, I think it's a good idea for everyone to work as hard as they can.

They can do that any way they want to then. [She's always been pretty smart and insightful, despite their rough start.] But you'll have to agree with me when I say that there will be a time where even the weakest among us will have to stand up and fight with their own two hands, and not stand behind the warriors that work to protect everyone here. Wouldn't you say that's true?

[She thinks the role of those who can fight is to protect those who can't; but after this long, Ami doesn't say that, because like so much else, it isn't that simple. The war isn't going well, whatever side of it you believe in. They are still no closer to escape or a way home.]

You may be right about that.

I know I am. This isn't like home. Not like yours, and definitely not like mine. So my question to you is, what will you do now?

I intend to train myself and my skills, my own way. [Ostensibly, she means her medical skills, her powers from Nala, the sort of thing she can tell anyone. But Sailor Mercury just might be a more visible presence at the battledome in the future as well.]

Yes, but will it be enough. That's what I'd like to know. [He's always had suspicions about her, but hey- if she trains to fight well enough, that's good enough for him. Not everyone is a Saiyan, after all.]

[Everything she's said is still true. She may be Mercury, but next to the other senshi, power hadn't been her strength. It had been strategy, coordination, planning, analysis. It had been fighting in her own way, and the very reason she's speaking up for that is that she finally learned it didn't make her inferior.

She leaves her answer vague.]

All anyone can do is try their hardest and keep improving themselves.

Well of course, but they need to put forth an effort to do that. Same goes for you. [Her vague answer sort of annoyed him, but eh- not the worst thing he's ever dealt with, not even close.]

[She's sorry, Vegeta. She doesn't like being slightly deceptive like this, but secrecy is a habit.]

I know. I won't be lazy. I've been here too long to give up on going home.

[That statement may seem a bit paradoxical, but the longer it's been, the more hopeless it may seem, but the more she wants a solution.]

Good. Too many people here have this silly notion that everything is just fine here, and quite frankly it makes me angry just thinking about it. [Part of why he even made a broadcast today.]

[She's the opposite, really. She has never considered Luceti to be fine. As things become more serious, more people are realizing that, which helps.]

I don't believe things are fine here. I just still want to believe we can win.

We can and we will. [Good to know she's not complacent.] I promise you that.

[And now Ami chooses to ask what should really be the first question after knowing Vegeta and seeing his display.]

Awhile ago, then, was that because of your training?

Ah-! Are you referring to the battle that took place north of the village last week? [It was kind of hard to miss...]

Yes; it was a powerful display. [Her only complaint would be if things got broken and ruined. Which may not be a random thought when it comes to Vegeta's training. Be careful out there.]

Yes, yes it was. [He can't help but reflect on that with a smile.] It's just too bad we didn't have the whole planet for a playing field.

[Vegeta, decimating a planet is a bad thing. Just so you know.]

The whole planet? [Ami can't help looking a little unsettled at that. It's a scale that's hard to control, no matter the person's intentions even.]

[Pshhhhh he doesn't care as long as he doesn't blow it up.]

Why, yes. Fighting in such a constrained space doesn't allow us to truly test our strength. We had to be careful not to destroy the entire enclosure, you know. Consider it lucky that the only damage there was is the crater and the decimated mountain.

Be careful of anyone else nearby, too. They could be injured in the confusion when things are that dangerous.

[She's going to at least be charitable enough to assume Vegeta wouldn't have been fighting someone who couldn't stand up to him.]

Of course. That's why we were as far out as we could go. The village was in no harm. I assure you of that. However there is a hole in the ground, quite an impressive one at that. I do believe it reaches all the way down to the barrier underneath the village.

To the barrier? [If it were that easy, she's sure he'd already have opened a way, and he'd probably already be gone. But she can't help letting it tease her mind.] How far underground?

I didn't go down there myself. But it's pretty far down. [Yeah he has nooooo idea. He just surveyed it and stood there going

I'd like to see it myself, from a closer standpoint. [Which means she'll definitely be planning on going there. Vegeta can assume it's to admire his handiwork.]
