8.5th...Taunt | Fourth Wall!
[Waking up as normal on the weekend as he always does, getting ready in the morning and heading out for another grueling day of training brought a surprise.
One that now, for some reason, he remembered from last year. A whole bunch of people he doesn't want to talk to but oh guess what, they're going to bug him anyway. But this year it's a little different for him. There might be quite a few irritants running amok, but he's got his eyes out this year. For more people from home. Curiosity killed the cat, so instead of training for eight to twelve hours today, he decides to cut it a little short at six and then make himself available in the village.
As always, he can be found at the Battle Dome, doing a usual training routine, and then doing more work with his sword that he's taken up to learning to fight with recently. He can be interrupted in between breaks, or during his training with his sword- but be wary, there are explosions that are rocking the entire building!
Afterwards he makes his way to Seventh Heaven to get a meal. It's far easier to spot people at a place like that, and holy cosmos does he have a ton of food in front of him. Piles and piles of it. And needless to say Vegeta is tearing through it, plates being emptied faster than you can blink. But yet, still managing to eat it somewhat gracefully. Somewhat being a relative term here.
Or, he can be found anywhere in the square in the main part of Luceti, around the Item Shop, Grocery Store, Blacksmith and Clothing Shop, among others, leaning up against a building and watching some of the crazy go down. Making notes of people he'd like to stay the heck away from just in case they pop up here later. Run in to him here, figuratively or literally, to bug him if you want.
Later in the evening, to relax he heads to the Hot Springs. Because hopefully here he can get away from the masses, because let's face it, it's given him a giant headache.
Or, create your own adventure.]

There's a lot to answer in that question alone, Trunks. But essentially what you see before you is a prison, shaped into the facade of a quiet, peaceful town. We are encapsulated by a barrier that neither allows us to leave, nor does it allow [GENERALLY] outside forces to enter. Long story short, we're in the middle of a war with powers that are so vastly different from what we know back at home. And our captors are not so gracious as you would think. We work for them, they do things for us in return, though it's not always a voluntary decision to do so. Most notable is that we are taken from here, without warning, and subjected to these blasted scientific experiments, only to return more often than not in far worse shape than when we left. I've been subjected to it twice since coming here, and that is a low number in comparison to other people.
[And even that makes the Saiyan Prince look very uncomfortable. There's something else he's hiding from his son in that, concerning himself, but it's not something he's going to talk about.]
no subject
Quick pose another question before he gets too far down that road of thought.]
What's the me like? The-- son that grew up with you?
no subject
Heh. Well. He's a bit more relaxed than you are, I'd say. With good reason of course. He's not exactly what I'd call driven either. He does what he needs to, but he'd much rather spend his day goofing off than getting any real work done. Which I'm surprised by. He runs Capsule Corporation nowadays, but frequently sneaks out of work. I've caught him in the act before. [He rolls his eyes, but continues on.]
As you can imagine, he takes after his dad a little though- [He grins as he says this part-] and is a bit sassy with me and others at times. I wouldn't call him completely full of himself, but he does have confidence, I'll give him that. And I can't even begin to describe to you what a troublemaker he was when he was younger. But, he's a good kid. He is most certainly polite otherwise, and kind enough that he's likable by most.
no subject
Still, got his mind off the other stuff Vegeta said so. He's visibly calmer, and. Dares to take the few quick steps to walk evenly side-by-side with him.]
He took over mom's company, huh? Must be pretty stressful.
[No, seriously, if the guy's sneaking out of work, he wouldn't blame him.]
I don't think he'd be your son or mom's if he didn't have a little bit of ego.
no subject
What can I say. It must run in the family. Your sister didn't seem to pick it up, but, instead she got myself and your mother's temper. [Exhibit A.]
no subject
Sister?
[Yeah, that's the part he zeroes in on.]
no subject
You heard me. Your sister, Bulla. My, are you in for a surprise.
no subject
[Wow they're like a real, legit family. Dang. The thought almost hurts considering how things are back in his time but nothing for it, right?]
Who else is stuck here?
no subject
To start, myself, Bulla, your other self, and your mother. Kakarot is here as well. He has another son you haven't met, named Goten who is here- and Gohan had a daughter, named Pan who is also among us. Now don't flip your lid when I tell you this, but Android 18 joined us recently as well.
[Ugh he pushed a button, he knows he did but there's no use in hiding it.]
no subject
Oh.
Oh yeah, that was a button.
The stop-in-his-tracks button. He stands in the middle of the walkway, staring at the back of Vegeta's head, literally shaking now.]
And that was just an afterthought to tell me.
no subject
Listen to me. And don't you go and fly off the handle here. You understand that your presence in our time essentially created a completely different universe, yes?
no subject
Yes.
no subject
...She married Krillin.
no subject
[Yep. This is a dream. It's some kind of coma-induced dream because Nope, not logical or reasonable at all. If the androids were people, sure he'd believe it but. They're monsters. They're programmed to behave certain ways, it's the whole point of their existence. To hate humans and destroy everything. Hell, even the monsters themselves told that to him.
The fact that he's not trembling should be the first clue that yeah no he's. Not on board at all.]
I... See.
no subject
I could get a hold of her and you can ask her yourself. [Because he's annoyed that Trunks isn't fucking following him here god son]
no subject
[Yeah, he's walking again, right past him in the direction they were going. But his tone is almost deadly.]
How about I just see for myself.
no subject
Fine by me. But if you do decide to try your hand at destroying her anyway, you're going to find out quickly how fruitless that will be. You haven't had the proper training yet, and even if you did I wouldn't allow it to happen.
[He doesn't like 18, but she is Krillin's wife, their daughter is friends with Bulla and they need 18 here to fight just as much as anyone else. And he does not need 18 suffering from a death penalty just because Trunks lost his mind.]
no subject
[Well, that's just rude. But he keeps going on before he realizes he. Has no idea where he's going. But really, Vegeta, can you blame him for this reaction? One of the androids that killed you, killed everyone else, laughs in Trunks' face while they beat him to near-death, is right here and you're saying she's different and almost normal. The same android whose eyes haunt him when he tries to sleep.
Don't even try to tell him she's 'okay' just because it's a different timeline. Those kinds of experiences just can't be erased, can't be ignored.]
What else should I know.
no subject
[Unfortunately, Vegeta could never come to completely understand what's happened to Trunks, as he didn't live that experience- and his empathy isn't exactly top notch.]
Listen, it's not going to do you any good to dwell on it now. It is what it is. As I said before, you're not going to be here much longer so you might as well enjoy it while you can. We'll take care of things here, I promise you that.
no subject
But if I can find a way to help while I'm here, it might be useful to know whatever I can.
no subject
[And now it's Vegeta's turn to look a little solemn.]
As much as it pains me to say, we're in no position to be doing much of anything around here. Not until we get more information, and even then. We have to wait for the right opportunity to strike. Trunks, this isn't like home. I can't just blast my way out of it. They could send me alone out to destroy our enemies, and it wouldn't matter.
They come back to life after a week. Permanent death does not exist here, except in a ritual that only an extremist group called the Third Party can perform. Sacrificial rituals, one of the most repulsive things I've ever seen. That barrier that holds us in, it keeps them out. And even then. They've breached it before.
no subject
[And he stops himself. He can't think of a non-emotional way to say, 'I'm not leaving you here, you're coming back home with me.' Not to mention he'd want to take everyone back and with what little it sounds like they know, he isn't sure how that'd work. The entire situation from the time he woke up here has been ridiculous, but he's determined to find a way. Even if he only has a couple of days.
His voice gets quiet. Defeated.]
Then. I'll enjoy the time with you and everyone while I'm here.
no subject
I know that wasn't what you wanted to hear. But I'm not going to sugar coat it for you. You just have to believe me when I tell you that we will be alright. We have been making progress, it's just been slow going. Besides. Not everything here is all gloom and doom. We have a lot of friends here, ones from other worlds. It makes life a little more bearable than you think.
no subject
But you're still stuck here. Along with everyone else and whatever these-- things are doing to you here.
wow i just texted at you i'm sorry
It's true that as luck would have it, one can be sent back home. But just as easily as they left, they can return; years later, without any recollection of their stay here. I've...been here once before, from what others have told me, and I don't recall ever visiting this place. We found records that the very same people who reside here today appeared in Luceti's past hundreds of years ago.
If we don't do something about it, nothing will change, and we could find ourselves here over and over again, to experience new horrors and more dangers. An endless war where the only victor is fate itself. And I don't know about you but I control my own fate, not some otherworldly force that decides it's my time to pay in again.
