[He'd thought a lot about this, long and hard. But even with all the evidence presented to him over the past year and a half, that still was never enough for him. He didn't want to rely on anything else to fight, he had his own power and his own strength. But being caught like he did so many times on the draft by shifters, relying solely on his own natural strength to survive- there had just been too many close calls.

And he had needed help more than once. How much that ate at his mind was unfathomable except to a few. One day no one was going to be there to help him, even if he hated the very idea of needing help. And if he wasn't ready, where would he be? Put into a position that he allowed for himself to be in, to die. To be sacrificed, like he was already by that bomb the cultists used on them. And next time, he wouldn't be so lucky and he knew it. He still had his reservations about contacting the spirits. But, he felt as if he couldn't avoid it much longer.

Too many what ifs. What if even something so small from the spirits would have helped him? He was sick of it, sick of knowing that might be the only thing he could rely on against their enemy. The only thing that worked when all his other powers were disabled. But even so, there's still more he wanted to know. Because if there's anything he hates, it's wasting time on things that are pointless.]

[The video feed flickers on, revealing the face of the prince, looking as serious as ever. He gets straight to the point.]

I must know. For those of you who are in contact with the spirits here, what use do you find in their power? Especially in combat. I might even have the patience to listen to a story or two regarding that, as I find it incredibly important in this matter. [He glances off to the side, knowing how this goes in Luceti.]

I know some of you would prefer to speak in person about such things. I'll be at Mythoria Café later tonight. But I won't stay long.

[As always, he's easily found. During the day, either at House 29 or the Battle Dome training, with both his sword or with his abilities. He does keep his word, appearing at Mythoria Café after he's done training and showered for the day.]

[ Well Helios won't answer Vegeta immediately when he asks that question. He'll wait until the other man is at the cafe to speak to him about the spirits here. He'll be slowly going through the tables handing out menus and drinks to people when he reaches Vegeta's table. ]

Mm I heard your question about the spirits today. Perhaps I could answer anything anyone hasn't mentioned already. But before that, would you like anything to eat or drink?

[He's not surprised to see Helios when he reaches Vegeta's table. It is the man's café, after all.]

I'd take a drink. I don't care what it is. Just so long as it's good.

Alright. I'll be back momentarily. [ Helios will make the other a drink similar to this. It's not perfectly made, but Helios is sure glad he has a book on how to make drinks with him here. Without even being a bartender himself he's gotten decent at it. It's probably not as good as some other's in the enclosure but he's managing. Though Vegeta might think it a bit strong... ]

Silver clicks on video and adjusts his camera so Feraligatr- his big blue alligator Pokémon that's casually smiling behind him- can be seen.]

I'm not much of a fighter in my own right, but I could keep my Pokémon healed through that last draft with Nala's help. [But the healing benefit should be pretty obvious. ]

With Sona's teachings, you can pull water from moisture in the air with enough practice, so it's instant water wherever you go. Hydration doesn't end up being as much of a problem. [Sure, that's more of a survival benefit than a combat one, but the two often go hand in hand.] Water's got all kinds of uses in a fight, too.

[He peers through the video at Feraligatr. That's a new one, and it's just as ugly as some of the other Pokémon he's seen too.]

Does it now. [He can see the benefit in that. He'd run out of water while on the draft.] Why don't you go ahead and tell how in the world water would help in a fight. I don't want to give the enemy a shower, you know.

[Well if you hit enemies with enough water you can choke and drown them, so it's good enough to at least stun, and that's not to mention that it can break or shatter bones or plain old pokes holes into just about anything, like solid rock or metal-]

With enough pressure, water can be really destructive. I'm not sure how strong filial magic gets, though. [Presumably not Hydro Pump strong, let alone Hydro Cannon... He should really test it out.] It's good for controlling your enemy's movement, too. You can push or pull them wherever you want. It's easy to adjust the temperature too, so scalding isn't out of the question.

[That... Okay no, that still sounds really violent. Feraligatr opens his mouth- let me demonstrate!- but Silver covers his snout with a hand. No breaking stuff. Calm down, buddy.]

[Well despite the fact that they train together in the mornings, Saori doesn't bring up the journal entry until that evening. The cafe's muted lighting feels more appropriate to talk about spirits in general, and Saori generally finds it a comforting atmosphere.

Collecting her usual Mythoria order (not fish and rice for once), and an extra plate of sushi for her friend, Saori just takes a seat in the booth across from him. Sliding over the extra, she gives him a soft smile. There isn't any teasing to her this time, because hey, this is somewhat serious. And a topic close to her heart.]

So you want to know what sorts of things the spirits here can do?

[He watches her slide in, taking the plate. She'd gotten him his favorite, and he eats one before he answers.]

Yeah. Hopefully more than just the basics.

[Well after all this time, one would hope she knew that much. While he talks, she starts mixing her curry and rice and meat all up. That's hard work, okay?]

May I ask what sparked the question, first? I thought you didn't care for magic.

[ It had been a long time since she'd seen him last...

Adela blinked as she opened the door to the battle dome room, sword at her waist as she had just come from the forge for her daily practice. To see him well is, without her having to say so, a relief. Seeing Vegeta in good health is more than relieving... Perhaps he had not met the same fate as she had heard whispers of in the village.

Either way, she was at ease to see him there. Hm, he had his sword though... She had to wonder just how Vegeta worked with it. ]

[He turns, surprised to hear someone calling out to him. Though there's only one person around here that addresses him as such.]

Yes? What is it.

Ah... It is nothing. I am simply relieved to see you in good health, and I was not expecting to come across you here.

[ She shakes her head, glancing away at the look. Why are all the people she talks to lately so rude...

Then again, they're all aristocracy of some kind. She needs to pick better company, doesn't she. ]

[Vash is sitting at the cafe when Vegeta arrives. Of course the last thing Vash wants to do is help Vegeta get better at killing. He grins like a huge fool and waves his arm dramatically above his head when he spots the prince.] Hey there grumpy pants! I have an empty seat here!

[So it's probably a good thing talking to Vegeta about the spirits is the last thing from his mind at the moment. What is on the gunslinger's mind is to take Vegeta's thoughts off of his own troubles even just for a moment. Be that by getting angry at an idiot or having a laugh at outlaw's expense Vash doesn't really care.]

[misterbrief]

[When he sees Vash waving like an idiot at him, and calling for him, he does exactly the opposite of what the outlaw wants and finds himself a booth on the other end of the café, on purpose. Still as noisy as ever, he thinks, and hopefully this deters Vash from bothering him.

[Oh, Vegeta. You poor naive fool. A better chance would have been just to simply leave and fly away the moment you were out the door.

Vash isn't phased at all by Vegeta sitting as far away as possible. Instead he picks up the sandwich he had been eating and ambles over to Vegeta and sits down next to him with a smile.] So how have you been lately! Seems like ages since we've caught up!

You're interested in learning about the spirits?

[At least, that's how it sounded to fayt. It was a bit unusual. Perhaps not as much as it could be, considering Vegeta was so keen on combat abilities, but he'd always figured he wouldn't be all that interested in spirits or magic.]

[He finally decided to flip through the journal for the first time in.. well since he got here, actually. Saw Vegeta's post and yeah, no, he knows his father doesn't ask for help. Not unless he's desperate.

And he wasn't about to ask either. He knows better by now.

It's not like he can train more with him, on top of double-duty training Bulla so one other thing he could do.

He waits until his father is in one of the communal areas and holds out a plate of hot, steaming food, a recipe his timeline's mother taught him before he left.]

[He looks up, taking the plate silently from his son. He knows Trunks thinks something's up, or he wouldn't be here.]

[Spock had been keeping to himself for quite some time, avoiding most public areas. But on this day, he decided to check out his terminal at the Battle Dome. Well, hello there Vegeta, long time no see.]

[He turns at the sound of the Vulcan's voice, a bit surprised.]

Well, well. You are still here, after all. [It's been a while.]

<sub>[ Kirk debated for awhile once he figured out it was Vegeta in the room whether or not to say anything to him. He had thanked him on the field for saving his butt, so wasn't that enough? But the better part of his brain said that no, he should thank him again.

And also, he wanted to ask about the thing he and Krillin seemed to be able to do, that internal radar and the use of energy. He hadn't really taken him seriously before, but the recent draft... well, it would be worth it to ask, maybe. And if Vegeta proved unwilling or an ass, he could always go ask Krillin.

He went up to the room and knocked on the door, waiting, because he was smart enough to think that just walking right on in might get his head caved in - literally. ]</sub>

[He hears the knocking, getting annoyed that someone is bothering him while he's training. If this was wasting his time, he was going to lose his mind he swears...

Sheathing his sword, he walks over and opens the door. Seeing Kirk, he scowls.]

Yes? This had better be important for you to interrupt me like this.
